BCHA MEMBERSHIP NOTICES

RE: Notice to BCHA Members – Reminder Regarding Court-Ordered Injunction 

Dear BCHA Members:

This letter is to remind all members that the Boulder City Horsemen’s Association (“BCHA”) remains subject to a court-ordered injunction restricting certain activities on BCHA property.

Accordingly, no “roughstock activities” are permitted on BCHA property at this time.

For purposes of the injunction, rough stock activities include:

1. Any person mounted on an animal other than an equine or ovine at any time;
2. Any person mounted on an equine that is expected or intended to unseat the rider; or
3. Any participant who is unmounted at the beginning of, or throughout, any activity involving bovines.

The restriction on rough stock activities does not apply to:

1. Cutting activities;
2. Roping activities;
3. Sorting activities;
4. Team penning activities; or
5. Working cow horse activities.

In addition, access by non-members (excluding immediate family members of BCHA members) for equestrian athletic activities, including horseback riding, remains suspended. This restriction does not apply to activities supplemental to the care of animals housed on the property, including veterinary services, farrier services, and hay deliveries.

These restrictions remain in effect until further notice. BCHA therefore asks all members to comply fully with these restrictions and to ensure that their guests and invitees do the same.
